The return of Prohibition

NuckyBY CHUCKS ENEIP

Friday is usually reserved for articles about movies, but late last night Poor Scholars’ own Chucks Eneip sent an exasperated email demanding that this story be posted on Friday. So, we obliged and put it up. Happy Friday!

Exploring a Poor Scholar’s DVR: Chucks

dvrBY CHUCKS ENEIP

As Rambo stated last week, Poor Scholars will give you a chance to look deep into our souls via our DVR choices. This week you will see all the personalities of Chucks. I want to say that I LOVE watching my stories. I keep a wide variety of television stored in my DVR for evenings and that glorious day of each weekend I take to not accomplish much of any work at all. It should be said that the following list is likely why I get very little sleep.

Zero Hour: Zero complaints

ZeroHourBY CHUCKS ENEIP

ABC premiered its new show Zero Hour two weeks ago, and if you have not seen the first two episodes yet, I suggest you do. Tonight the third episode of season one will air. Immediately the metaphysical, church-conspiracy, Nazi-clock drama, starring former ER actor and Tony Kornheiser doppelgänger Anthony Edwards, was met with serious skepticism. BY CHUCKS ENEIP

Last night Poor Scholars decided to throw Chucks into the fire and have him cover the State of the Union for his Poor Scholars debut. Any time we can prove our merit as scholars we will and along with being a doctoral student, Chucks is big into politics (it should be noted Chucks worked on President Obama’s campaign during the most recent election). The following is an overview of the night and his reaction to the President’s remarks and the response made by the GOP. This piece is the opinion of Chucks.

Fast Food development with Chucks

Three years ago I moved from Chicago to Columbus, Ohio for graduate school. Some believe I moved here solely for the quality education I would receive, however it was the city’s extensive fast food testing market that really sold me. The city is not only home to an absurd number of fast food headquarters, but its demographics and economy make it an ideal testing market. It is no secret that many of my friends are addicted to Taco Bell, so I found it quite amusing to taunt Poor Scholars’ own Rambo Nomolos with my early access to their new breakfast menu, and of course, their wildly successful Doritos Locos Tacos. With the announcement of the upcoming release of a Cool Ranch version, I began to brainstorm on some new snack company-fast food mash-ups I would personally love to see happen.
