Yes, this is real.
All of your favorite bands from your elementary school carpool are here and sitting poolside. Just when you thought life with unlimited pizza and soft-serve ice cream couldn’t get any better, Mark McGrath slaps you in the face with 1996.
The lineup is scheduled to include Sugar Ray (duh), Smash Mouth, Gin Blossoms, Cracker, Spin Doctors, Vertical Horizon, The Verve Pipe and Marcy Playground, among others.
For just $800 and a bit of your sanity, you can sail from Miami to Nassau while enjoying (according to the website):
- Live music every night featuring a great lineup
This much is obvious. - A nightly show in the Dynasty Lounge Theater.
Sounds very similar to point number 1. - Performances around the ship.
See points 1 & 2. - Q and A sessions.
Oh good, I have a few questions I’ve been dying to ask. - Opportunities to get up close and personal with musical guests.
Probably a good time for a Q and A session. - Surprise jam sessions.
Is it really a surprise anymore? - And other surprises
What could Mark possibly have left up his sleeve?
I do, after all, write for Poor Scholars, so cruises don’t fit in my budget, but you can bet your ass I’m going home to bust out those mix CDs, grow out my soul patch and put my bowling shirt on, because this is real life.
Oh, and since it’s now stuck in head, I leave you with this. You’re welcome.
